For drivers around Slater and Jefferson looking for a next-generation off-roading SUV, the wait is almost over. Both the Ford Bronco and the Ford Bronco Sport are set to release soon, so it's important for drivers to know exactly what each brings to the table to make the right choice. That said, both models are set to bring a superior off-roading experience to the market, complete with standard 4x4 capability across the board.

What is the Ford Bronco?

The Ford Bronco is a compact SUV that will be available as either a two-door or, for the first time, a four-door model. It comes standard with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that gets 270 horsepower and a best-in-class four-cylinder torque rating of 310 pound-feet. With an available best-in-class 11.6-inch ground clearance and a best-in-class water fording capability of up to 33.5 inches, the Ford Bronco outclasses its fellow compact SUVs in various ways.

What is the Ford Bronco Sport?

While it may share a similar namesake, the Ford Bronco Sport is very much its own SUV. It is a subcompact SUV that shares many of the same off-road capabilities as its bigger sibling. It is equipped with a power output of 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine that gets 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque.

The Bronco Sport features five diverse trim levels, ranging from the base model, which focuses on the essentials to the Badlands trim that takes off-roading to the next level. Its standard features include an enhanced 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine and an off-road suspension.
