When you want to get away, you pack up your vehicle and you grab your friends or family to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. So out of the numerous options on the market, which do you choose? We encourage you to consider how the Ford Escape can compare against the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, and Hyundai Tucson.

Ford Escape vs. Honda CR-V
With the CR-V, you get all-wheel drive, but the Escape offers 4WD. With the CR-V, you can only tow up to 1,500 pounds, while select engines in the Escape can tow up to 3,500 pounds. For comparably-equipped models, you'll spend less for the 2018 Escape than you would for the CR-V. Enjoy 245 horsepower with the Escape, but expect only 184 horsepower in the CR-V.
Ford Escape vs. Mazda CX-5
The CX-5 offers 187 horsepower, while the Escape provides 245 horsepower on the Titanium trim level. Also, on the Mazda model you will get all-wheel drive, but the Escape offers four-wheel drive full-time. Navigation is an optional feature on the CX-5, but it is standard on the Titanium trim of the Escape.

Ford Escape vs. Toyota RAV4
The 2018 Escape offers a 2.0-liter engine with 245 horsepower, but the only engine you can get with the RAV4 is a 2.5-liter that offers 176 horsepower. With the Escape you can enjoy the luxury of leather seats, but in the RAV4 you will only get vinyl. Navigation is a standard feature on select trims of the Escape, but it isn't offered on the RAV4 without a package. The RAV4 only offers all-wheel drive, while the Escape features four-wheel drive. The RAV4 says it can tow up to 1,500 pounds, but the Escape pulls a whopping 3,500 pounds.
Ford Escape vs. Hyundai Tucson
The Tucson doesn't offer navigation, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Forward Obstruction Warning, or Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, but the Escape lets you opt to include these features. You also can expect to get 245 horsepower in the Escape if you choose to accept it, while the Tucson only has 164 horsepower available. Don't expect four-wheel drive in the Tucson, but you can have it in the Escape. The Tucson only offers all-wheel drive.
